Bath Township, Ohio – At its regular meeting on September 2, 2025, the Bath Township Board of Trustees authorized the Township Zoning Inspector to issue notices of violation to Resource Recycling, located at 1596 Neubrecht Road in Lima, Ohio. These violations of the Township Zoning Resolution are related to ongoing odor complaints from residents and associated air quality concerns stemming from the compost portion of the company’s operations.

Bath Township Board of Trustees Chairman Brad Baxter stated:

“I have met with the owner of Resource Recycling, and he is aware of the situation with the odor coming from the compost portion of his business. He has told the Township he is committed to working toward a solution to eliminate the odors as soon as possible.”

In the meantime, the Bath Township Board of Trustees is working closely with Resource Recycling, the Allen County Health Department, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address resident concerns and ensure compliance with applicable zoning and air quality regulations.

The Board remains committed to protecting the health, safety, and quality of life of Bath Township residents while working collaboratively with local businesses to achieve compliance and sustainable operations.
